HUOT, Norman Thomas
Norman Thomas Huot was born in Westlock AB on September 22, 1944 to Leon and Lea Huot. He grew up on a farm just south of Vimy AB with his three older siblings Hector, Lorraine and Olive.
In 1971 he married Lorraine Charrois they moved just a quarter mile away from the farm where Norman grew up and they started their life together. They had two children Marcel and Annette. Norman continued to farm with his dad, brother, and son for many years. In 2010 Norman decided to retire from farming. This didn’t slow him down from continuing to do much work around the yard. He always seemed to find something to keep him busy. In his spare time, he loved being outdoors. Whether hunting fishing or finding things to work on in yard, being outside was where he loved to be. Norman was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was a very hard working and proud yet humble man who was well known for his wonderful smile and willingness to help anyone in need.
On Saturday March 5, 2022, Norman sadly lost his battle with COPD at the age of 77. He died peacefully in his home with his wife by his side and surrounded by his family.
He is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lorraine who he was married to for over 50 years. As well as his son Marcel (Jennifer) and daughter Annette (Shelby) along with four grandchildren Keanan, Kylee, Aiden and Blake, his sister Olive (Alex), sister-in-laws Glenis, June, Yoland and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones. He was predeceased by his parents Leon &Lea, his brother Hector and nephew Brian, sister Lorraine and her husband Gerald, and brothers-in-law Maurice and Norm.
Norman’s wishes were to be cremated and forgo a funeral. Therefore, a burial date will be set at a later time. Donations gracefully accepted to the Alberta Lung Association 17420 Stony Plain Rd. #208, Edmonton, AB T5S 1K6.
