Helen Kohlruss (nee Antoniuk)
March 12, 1932 - May 13, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Helen Kohlruss of Westlock at the age of 89 years.
Mom will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She had a kind and gentle heart who always put others before herself.
She had excelled in many things in her 89 years but the most important to her was being a mother and grandmother. She would and did anything and everything for us. A few of her passions were being a 4-H leader, wedding cake decorator, babysitter, amazing cook and baker, seamstress as well as a productive gardener. Although it was back breaking work she would put in her acre of garden (at the least) to be able to share the bounty with family, friends and anyone that may have stopped by the farm. She truly loved going to gospel concerts and festivals with her wonderful friends Garry and Maryann Lorenz, having missed only one over the years.
Mom will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children: Debbie, Garry (Lorena), Ken (Gwen) and Tom (Aline), grandchildren: Kelly, Tamara (Mitch) Bombier, David, Jeffrey (Courtney), Mathew, Quintin, Joshua, Jordan and Aria, great-grandchildren: Lukas & Hudson Bombier and Jacob & Natalie Kohlruss. Brother, John Antoniuk, God Child and niece Roseann LaPlace numerous nieces & nephews as well as many many good friends.
Mom was predeceased by her parents Gregory & Anna Antoniuk, brothers; Nick and Bill and sister Mary Teslak.
With the current public health situation, a private family gathering of interment will be held at this time to honour mom’s memory. We will have a celebration of her life at a later date in Westlock when restrictions allow.
