KRAVONTKA, Frank Arthur
It is with profound sadness and much love that the family of Frank Arthur Kravontka of Jarvie, Alberta announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, August 10th, 2022 at the age of 84. Frank was born November 25th, 1937, on the Kravontka homestead. He was the fourth child to Martin and Elizabeth Kravontka. He attended Jarvie school until grade 9, when he decided to quit school to work in British Columbia & Saskatchewan. When Frank came back to visit his family, he found his parents farming alone so he decided to stay to help on the farm. On July 20th, 1963 he married his “Jarvie Girl” Ethel Higgins from Cedar Creek. Martin and Elizabeth eventually sold the family farm to Frank &Ethel. Together they worked hard and raised three children, Joanne, Donnie and Angela. Frank was a renowned athlete; he was specially known as a pitcher for several Jarvie baseball teams and an avid curler at the Jarvie curling rink. He was well-known in the Jarvie community through his involvement with the Rod & Gun club, 4H, Fall suppers and mostly, by being a good neighbor. Frank was known for his love & respect of the land he farmed, but beyond that, he was known for the love he had for his family. While the farm was their livelihood, the greatest gift it gave them was a gathering place for their family to share and create memories.
Left to carry on his legacy is his wife of 59 years, Ethel, their three children; Joanne (Bob) Mattice of Cold Lake, AB, Donnie Kravontka of Grassland, Angela (Gregg) Macloghlin of Kelowna, his 7 grandchildren; Jillian (Orr), Ethan, & Jordan Mattice, Elizabeth (Denver) Fandrick, Elise (Daniel) Murphy &Emma (Quinton) Kravontka & Aidan Macloghlin, his five great-grandchildren; Ellie-Rose, Waylon & Willie Fandrick, & Madelynn & Hadley Murphy & his sister Ann Crouser.
