CHARLOTTE (LOTTIE) MCDOUGAL KREKLAU, nee Forbes

April 22, 1921- April 28, 2021

It is with great sadness that Alvin and Ken Kreklau announce the passing of their mother, Charlotte (Lottie) Kreklau. Lottie passed away at the age of 100 on April 28, 2021, in the Westlock Hospital after a brief illness.

Lottie Kreklau was born in Edmonton, Alberta on April 22, 1921 to James and Jesse Forbes. She married Carl Kreklau in Edmonton in 1944. They farmed west of Westlock until retirement in 1980. Carl and Lottie loved to dance, spend time with family and friends until his passing on June 7, 1985. She was also predeceased by her only sister Margaret.

Lottie is survived by her two sons, Alvin and his wife Denise, Ken and his wife Bev. Her 5 grandchildren Tami (Keven) Lackey, Leanne (Casey) MacDonald, Jeff (Cody) Kreklau, Kevin (Bonnie) Kreklau and Melissa (Matt) Bellrose. Her 14 great grandchildren, Justen (Ashley), Brayden, Camren, Keaten, Landen, Mackenzi, Abbegail, Maddesyn, Blake, Nathan, Jaxson, Brooklynn, Jacob and Katelyn.

Lottie lived a full life as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to garden, bake, play cards and spend time with her many friends. Most of all she loved her family and was truly loved by her family and many friends.

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Special thanks to the Staff at Smithfield and Pembina Lodge and the Westlock Hospital for taking special care of our Lottie.
