La Rose, Leonard Henry “Len”

December 3, 1922 – December 23, 2022

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Len at the age of 100 years old.

Len is lovingly remembered by his children: Len (Sheila) La Rose, Donna (David) Swerhun; grandchildren: Karen (Darren) Girard, Jonathan La Rose (Alex Lake), Alanna La Rose (Colin Etienne), Matthew (Amanda) La Rose and Ryan La Rose; great grandchildren: Cayley (Cameron) Girard, Lane Girard, Alexander La Rose, Hudson Girard, Isabelle La Rose; step-children Everett (Jean) Wolff, Edward (Carol) Wolff, Willard Wolff, brother Eugene (Stella) La Rose, sisters-in-law Vicky La Rose and Helen La Rose and his granddogs Sprocket and Maggie Mae; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Len was the loving husband of his first wife Alberta La Rose and his second wife Irene La Rose, whom he greatly missed upon their passing. He was also predeceased by three brothers, one sister and his parents Fred and Esther La Rose.

Even at 100 years old, Len was very active, loved gardening, fishing, playing crib, attending church and spending time with his family. Len was thrilled to enjoy his 100th birthday, which he celebrated surrounded by his family and friends.

A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Westlock Funeral Home, with Interment at Westlock Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SCARS Animal Rescue or to the Hazel Bluff United Church.

The family of Len La Rose would like to extend special thanks to Pastor Lilley Glebe, members of the Hazel Bluff United Church and the staff at Westlock Funeral home.
