It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Reid McNamara on Friday, December 25, 2020 at the age of 27 years. We take comfort knowing he has been rejoined with his mother Edna Schreiber, and his grandfather Karl Schreiber.
Reid was born and raised in Calgary, AB, except for three childhood years when he lived in Sana’a, Yemen, while the family was on an expatriate assignment. Those years proved very formative providing him with a love of travel, an exceptionally curious mind, and an acceptance of other cultures. Reid was equally at home on his grandparent’s farm as he was touring the sites of Rome, Italy.
As a young man Reid was brilliant, insightful, gregarious and was loyal to family and close friends. He had great architectural design abilities and was a high energy individual. Reid enjoyed family traditions like shooting practice with his dad, running errands with his mom and rural life running equipment with his grandpa.
Family travel with his aunt, cousins and grandma to Europe and the Caribbean brought fond memories for a young man who lost his mother at fifteen. Although they could not replace her there was hope that love for him shone through.
He was loved unconditionally and forever for who he was and will be missed beyond measure.
Reid is survived by his father Brian McNamara, his grandmother Enid Schreiber, his aunts, Janice McNamara and Konnie Kepford; plus numerous cousins.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, no funeral services will be held. Reid will join his mother and grandfather at rest in Westlock, Alberta.
