MILLER, Alex

November 5, 1930 – February 27, 2023

On Monday, February 27, 2023 we mourn the passing of Alexander McKay Miller with his loving wife Gale by his side.

Alex enjoyed travelling, baseball, tennis and many other sports. Gathering for a meal or coffee with family and/or friends was one of his favorites.

In Alex’s shop every tool had its own spot. Everything Alex did was done with pride and precision. He often said “It’s the principle that counts.”

Alex will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but for his simple down to earth nature and love of life. His legacy lives in everything he has done as well as in the hearts of those who loved him. Alex was a remarkable man who serves as a lasting example of kindness, generosity and unconditional love.

We were blessed with the years we had with him. Remembering him is easy but missing him is a heartache that will never go away.

Alex was predeceased by his parents Florida and John Miller, son John Miller, brother and sister-in-law Albert and Florence Miller.

Alex is survived by his wife Gale Miller, daughters Joan Miller (Rick Taylor), Carol Miller, Dianne Miller (Jayson Sutherland), Beverly (Daren) Zahacy; stepson Severyn (Marilyn) Walker, stepdaughter Tanya Walker, along with Alex’s loving 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

A very special heartfelt thank you to Pauline Elaschuk and Jim Laughy for all your love and support. Many thanks to Dr. Keay and the staff of the Associate Clinic as well as the Westlock Hospital staff and doctors.

A service will be held for Alex at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Hazel Bluff Cemetery c/o Valerie Larsen RR #1, Westlock, AB T7P 2N9.
