Gloria Mae Paquette
1932 ~ 2023
Gloria Paquette of Barrhead, AB, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023 at the age of 91.
Born April 29, 1932 in Unity, SK to Lawrence and Pearl (Kay) Humble, Gloria married Albert Paquette on August 17, 1949 in Linaria, AB. They were married for 65 years before Albert’s earlier passing in 2015.
Gloria will forever be remembered for her wonderful cooking, love of gardening and painting, pride of family, and community volunteerism in Highridge and Barrhead. Gloria’s strong personality, love of family, and commitment to friends and neighbours made her a steadfast anchor both to her family and community.
Gloria was a long-time member and Chair of the Alberta Agricultural Development Corporation and was inducted into the Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame in 1991.
Gloria will be forever missed by her children; Sharon (Richard) McLoughlin, Larry (Donna) Paquette, Nadine (Dave) Holsted, Jean (Jim) Menzies; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
