Lorne Michael Schmaus
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lorne Michael Schmaus following a brief illness, on February 8th 2025, at the age of 80. Lorne was surrounded by his family and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.
Lorne leaves to cherish his memory, his spouse; Ruby Schmaus nee: Olson, Children; Lance Schmaus, Leonda Clarke (Ken), Shannon Schmaus. Grandchildren; Granddaughters; Kayla Dickson (Andrew - sons Cooper & Nash), Lindsay Clarke (Liam Peterson), Leigha Strawson (Thomas - sons Bennett & Brooks), Brooke Clarke, and Hannah Schmaus. Brothers/Sisters; Robert Schmaus (Marlene – son Ryan). Sisters in law; Irene Olson, Orriel Vobeyda, Avis Erickson. Brothers in law; Hartley Olson (Honor Bales), Wald Olson (Lavone), Wendell Olson (Trudy), Quentin Olson (Teresa) as well as numerous other extended family and many dear friends.
Lorne is predeceased by; Mother Leah Schmaus nee: Ruhl - January 1988, Father; Joseph John Schmaus -August 1999, Brother; Lloyd Schmaus 1936, Father In Law; Raymond Olson - July 1977, Mother In law: Violet Alberta Olson nee: Baxter - August 2007, Brothers In Law; John Vobeyda - June 2024, Floyd Olson - June 2024
A Memorial service will be held March 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Barrhead Seniors Centre
Donations may be made in Lorne Schmaus’s memory to the Cross Cancer Institute or charity of choice.
