THOMPSON, Kenneth Gordon
On February 5, 2021 our father; Kenneth Gordon Thompson passed away at age 83. He is predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Winnifred. Once again, the hearts of his daughters: Donna Fedorvich (John Lastiwka), Shauna Young (Doug), and Rhona Russell are in pieces as are those of his seven grandchildren. Marshal (Jen), Colten (Carla), Dylan (Candace), Kayla (Colin), Larysa (Matt), Sarah and Brett and his seven great grandchildren.
Dad loved nothing better than to watch the grandchildren play sports. Then later the great grandkids playing hockey and baseball. If there was a game, he was there to watch it and then to discuss it with you after as to what you should have and could have done better. Dad was our North Star. He was the bar that we used to measure our behaviour, often asking ourselves; “what would Papa say?”
We shall miss his grin and silent shake of his head when we did something less than stellar. He loved us all unconditionally. He showed up for all of us in a very real way.
His birthday would have been on February 19. We encourage you to have a double scoop ice cream on that day in memory of him (don’t forget the waffle cone!)
