Dear Editor, We were very disappointed to hear about the UCP government’s decision to temporarily cut library funding by 50 per cent.

From Grade 3 to Grade 9, I grew up on an apple orchard in Creston, B.C. On one side of our orchard was my grandmother’s orchard, which in addition to having apples, sported a large number of soft fruits, such as peaches, apricots, plums and cherries.

The subject of library funding caused a bit of a stir last week after CBC and Global reported that half of the provincial grant that normally goes to libraries had been frozen until the release of the 2019 budget.

Is junior-level hockey sustainable in Barrhead? In my opinion, the answer is yes. In my hometown of Creston B.C., a junior hockey team of some form has always existed.
