Dear Editor, In the last while, our Education Minister — the Honourable Mr. David Eggen — has been sending strong threats that he plans to remove government funding, and also possibly accreditation, from Christian schools.

British Columbians are currently in the process of deciding whether they want to change the way they elect their provincial government. Currently, B.C., uses the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system, as do all the other provinces.

About the only thing more assured than death and taxes is the inevitable bad news that will come with each year’s enrolment update from Pembina Hills Public Schools (PHPS).

Regardless of how much money one throws at policing, crime still happens. Until we live in a perfectly utopian state, there will continue to be crime. And unfortunately, there will be victims.

Look around you and you’ll realize that the businesses you frequent most in your daily life, especially in a town like Westlock, are small businesses.

It is an end of an era. On Oct. 17, recreational or adult-use marijuana officially became legal in Canada ending a 95-year prohibition. Will anything really change? We suspect not.

Dear Editor, The Rich Valley Agricultural Society regrets to inform our community we have suffered a major set back with the breakdown of our ice plant, which has delayed our ability to start up indefinitely.
