In a debate about how relevant the Federation of Canadian Municipalities is to rural communities, County of Barrhead Coun. Darrell Troock said the issue of cannabis, except for its cultivation, had little relevance here. We disagree.

Dear Editor, Much discussion is going around our community regarding the relocation of our Community Garden. While we are disappointed, we believe the Town of Barrhead is acting in good faith and is actively looking for a new spot for us.

Imagine being taken away from your home, away from your family and everything you’ve known for your entire young life and being shipped away to a strange place to have everything about who you know yourself to be systematically stripped away with rut

In response to Lorraine Mahe’s letter: It is good to know you enjoyed your visit to Athabasca.. Many of us living here feel that we have won the lottery.. you cannot find a better country, and you cannot settle in a better little town.

In my Town of Barrhead council story about the Blue Heron Fair Days parade, I start off by saying everyone loves a parade. And I believe that is true. However, as the story goes on to say, not everyone is happy with the route.

In response to Allendria Brunjes Sept. 11, T&C column, “Our right to choose.” I agree with the writer’s statement about “my body, my belly”. We can make choices that affect only our body.

Dear Editor, I’ve been a dairy farmer near Barrhead for 41 years. I farm here with my wife, daughter and son-in-law. I’d like to weigh into the debate on supply management, as it’s important in our agricultural community.
