Being single has its advantages and disadvantages, but one thing I’m glad I get to miss out on is back to school shopping. You wouldn’t necessarily think that from watching TV commercials.

I would like to thank the Town and the people of Athabasca for consenting to having the gospel tent sent up on the river front it was a perfect location with easy access and visibility.

On behalf of myself and the Barrhead Leader , I would like to retract the comments made in the column “A conservative dilemma,” which was published online and in the Aug. 14, 2018 edition of the Barrhead Leader .

Here we go again. In our Aug. 7 issue, the Leader published a brief saying that John Whittaker was no longer an employee of the Town of Barrhead. Whittaker had been Barrhead Regional Fire Services (BRFS) chief since November 2011.

Letter to the Editor: I almost had to chuckle at L. Cashman’s letter of dismay published in the most recent Barrhead Leader. No, it was not in mockery or disagreement, but in empathy and understanding.

The notion of imposing a curfew is, at least on paper, an intriguing idea.

A little over a month ago we asked Town of Barrhead’s council to consider reopening discussion on whether or not they should ban smoking and vaping on any town-owned facilities or properties.

We know that Westlock County council didn't take the decision to close the Tawatinaw Ski Hill lightly. They've made that very clear.

No doubt you will have heard about the impending demise of the Tawatinaw Valley ski hill, located about a half hour’s drive east of Westlock.
