Dear Editor, The other day [April] we heard on the news that the pro-life society is not going to be making a presentation at the Red Deer Catholic School.

This past Sunday residents took to the streets to commemorate one of Canada’s greatest heroes. The community’s annual Terry Fox Run brought in 12 runners, a dog and $677 for the campaign.

The second annual Athabasca College Hockey Challenge went smoothly last weekend. The education fair was flooded with high school students at times. Athabasca’s young hockey players posed with high-level athletes on the ice.

I remember first picking up the tenor saxophone in Grade 7; I was so proud that I had passed the required half semester of playing the clarinet to graduate to the instrument I really wanted to play.

We are less than a week away from Nomination Day in advance of the Oct. 16 Municipal Election, which means those interested in running need to be at their respective council office between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sept. 18.

Like it or not Canada is going to legalize the recreational use of marijuana. It is just a matter of time — by July 2018 if you believe the federal government.

If you’re going to donate to a charity, donate to one that benefits children. That’s what I think anyway. But I’m not telling you what to do with your money, I’d never dream of it.
