Education, income, age and location – these are all factors that effect the likelihood that a person knows how to use the internet well.

Sometime polls and surveys are wrong. Take the 2012 Alberta provincial election. The vast majority of media organizations predicted the Wild Rose party would win the election. Why? Because that is what the polls told them.

Resolutions are only words if actions do not back them up. It happens every year. We make grand gestures and think we can do everything, but then life gets in the way or we backslide or whatever. I know how it is.

It is my pleasure to give you a year-end review as Reeve. As you know council appointed me at the October re-organizational meeting. I want to thank council for their confidence in me and to the residents of our county.

Dear Editor, One day I did the unbelievable. I went to the TD bank machine, did what I had to, and twenty minutes later realized I didn’t’ have my carry bag, which had some important items in it. I asked the TD staff if they picked it up, but no.

Dear Editor, I just finished watching your Barrhead Midget Steelers team play a game in Ponoka. I wanted to take a minute to commend the squad. They are an absolute pleasure to watch.

It’s five days to Christmas. For most of us this week involves a mad scramble to get in last-minute shopping, or figuring out how to pack a mini van full of kids and presents to go visit grandma and grandpa.

Christmas is a good time to spend with your family and it is also a time for giving, especially to those less fortunate. It is a special holiday season that draws the community closer together.

Last week Barrhead town council approved Barrhead Public Library’s budget, as well as the municipality’s interim budget, both of which include a half of a per cent cost of living wage adjustment (COLA) increase. Congratulations.
