The Village of Clyde released their three-year and five-year capital plans that involve making some upgrades to infrastructure and recreational equipment at its May 14 meeting.
They have set aside $701,347 for the 2025 year. This includes a utility capacity water analysis, sewer capacity analysis, street repairs, Village office and fire hall repairs, vehicle repairs and a new playground.
Between 2026 and 2030, an estimated 500 thousand will be spent per year on repairs and additions for the sewer and water systems, roads, recreation and vehicles. The biggest investment will be towards roads and water systems. Over $1.4 million will be spent on repairs, gravel replacement and drainage over the five years. The water system will see $1,017,500 for their planned upgrades.
They anticipate a majority of the funds will come from the capital grant funding and the capital reserves while also planning on exploring infrastructure grants but none have been confirmed at this time.
Council also noted that $33,878.43 in taxes are outstanding with nearly half from the 15 per cent past due penalty and the Tax Recovery Collection that is applied to accounts with 2023 arrears still outstanding.
Total operating revenue for the year will be $1,945,165 with the total operating expenses at $1,939,469.
