The town of Westlock has released the agenda for their regular council meeting on Monday, Aug. 11.
The meeting will feature an update on the town’s Aspendale Area Structure Plan (ASP) from Bearisto & Associates, an engineering and survey firm in charge of the project. This is a development plan for the Aspendale neighborhood in northeast Westlock which hopes to develop the area for residential housing and commercial businesses. Bearisto & Associates received feedback on the plan from Westlock community residents at an open house on June 18.
Council will review the plan in a first reading and possibly approve a public hearing date for further community engagement.
For new town business, council will introduce a first reading and set a public hearing date for rezoning a downtown property and introduce amendments to the Westlock Municipal Airport Agreement.
The meeting will also include correspondence from the Alberta Passenger Rail Master Plan, Small Community Opportunity Program, a refund request for a variance application fee and introduction letter from Trevor Daroux, the new Commanding Officer of the Alberta RCMP.
The meeting will finish with monthly department reports, councillor and mayor reports and the town council action list and donation report before moving into a closed meeting.
The full meeting agenda can be accessed here.
This will be council’s only meeting this month with their next meeting scheduled for September 8. All town council meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at 10007 100 Ave.
