WESTLOCK - A vehicle fire broke out on the intersection of Highway 44 and Range Road 572 Wednesday (June 4). According to John Biro, the fire chief for Westlock County, the driver of the vehicle saw flames from the back of their vehicle. The driver pulled over where the fire department was notified of the incident.
County Fire Department, EMS and RCMP were dispatched at 12:22 p.m. and arrived on scene less than 10 minutes later. The vehicle was already fully involved and had spread to the grass around it. The fire was quickly extinguished and the driver checked for smoke inhalation.
There is currently no known cause of the fire. The owner's insurance company will be conducting an investigation on the matter
