Westlock man to stand trial on charges of sexually assaulting a minor

WESTLOCK – A man accused of sexual assault against a minor has been committed to stand trial following a preliminary hearing before Justice Gordon Putnam in Westlock Court of Justice on Nov. 27.

Samuel Lebeau faces charges of sexual assault and sexual contact with a child. Charges of administering a noxious substance and possession of a controlled substance were previously withdrawn. 

Crown prosecutor Eric Mosley called one witness and presented video evidence to the court.

Defence Caitlin Bullerkist didn’t call any witnesses.

Lebeau has elected to be tried by judge and jury in Court of King’s Bench.

Details of the preliminary hearing can’t be published. There is a publication ban on identifying the underage victim.
