Barrhead-Morinville-Westlock MLA Ken Kowalski was the guest speaker at the Tuesday, Nov. 8 Chamber of Commerce meeting, where things got heated when he faced questions from political opponents and attendees.

Westlock RCMP Const. Jim Jimmo will be out on the county roads full time as he has been selected to fill the enhanced policing position with the county. Council approved creating the position through a series of meetings last spring.

A small crowd of about 50 people were at the Westlock Cenotaph Friday afternoon to see about two dozen doves released. Earlier in the day about 1,000 people packed the Westlock & District Community Hall for the official Remembrance Day ceremony. Also on Nov. 11 more than 100 people packed the Clyde Community Hall for the village's Remembrance Day ceremony before moving outdoors to the cenotaph.
