Sgt. Bobb Dodds, Barrhead RCMP detachment commander, had some good news and bad news to report to Barrhead town council during their regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Henny Mast remembers it well. On May 10, 1940 the first Nazi German troops crossed the border of the Netherlands and they didn’t leave the area until the second half of 1944. At least not in the area Mast lived with her family.

At the regular meeting of Barrhead County Council on Tuesday, Nov. 3, residents of R.R. 60 assembled to voice their concerns over the council’s decision to end the practice of oiling in their area.
