A 15-second video of a Westlock man’s invention to “cut corners,” or rather cut hedges, has exploded over the Internet.

Westlock’s Silhouette Dance Productions celebrated its 25th anniversary in style by taking 66 dancers to join in the Disneyland “Dance the Magic” parade in Anaheim, Calif. July 6-9.

More than 100 people, with some coming as far away as Calgary, turned out July 15 for the seventh annual Flatbush Rocks concert hosted at the Flatbush Hall.

Canada’s 150th birthday isn’t the only milestone that the residents of Dapp are celebrating this year. The hamlet is enjoying its 100th birthday and organizers are focused on making it an event to remember. The celebrations begin July 1 at 8 a.m.

While Westlock’s centennial has come and gone, there’s another milestone to celebrate, Canada’s 150th birthday. With July 1 quickly approaching, organizers of this year’s blowout have been hard at work. The day will begins with a bang at 10:30 a.m.

If you’re looking for a celebration a little more solemn July 1, the Hamlet of Vimy is hosting the official unveiling of a cenotaph honouring the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. The ceremony starts at 2 p.m.
