Two Westlock-area athletes returned home from the Canada 55-Plus Summer Games in Strathcona County on Aug. 27-30 with medals around their necks.

Hockey fans in Westlock were given a special treat last Saturday at the Westlock Rotary Spirit Centre. On Aug. 23, the BellZ Edge hockey camp wrapped up with a game between its instructors and members of the Westlock Warriors senior ‘AA’ team.

Pro North Hockey Camp came to Barrhead for a two-week run August 11-15 and August 18-22. According to Chris Driessen, organizer of the camp, this was the 12th year of the hockey school and she explained how the camp started over a decade ago.
