The Midget AA North Central Bulls lost in a 6-0 shutout against the NE B.C. & Yukon Flyers last Friday night at the Athabasca Regional Multiplex.

Breast cancer survivor Madena Reimer had always planned to enter a team in the Oct. 6 CIBC Run for the Cure at Sir Winston Churchill Square in Edmonton. It is the Reimer Warriors’ sixth year entering the run.

The Boyle School boys golf team has brought home the Zone 1A banner. The team of four boys competed in Westlock on Sept. 16. Boyle School has been attending the zone tournament since 2008 but has never placed in the top three.

What can go wrong, will go wrong, according to Edwin Parr Composite High School Pacers coach Pete Burden. After a week of disaster, Burden said the team pulled through and won last Friday against the Westlock Thunderbirds 48-34.

For Randy Grossenbacher, competing in the quad rodeo near Camp Creek has become almost a necessity. After 15 or 16 years of participating, the event still gives him the same buzz he experienced when he first began racing. “I love it,” he says.
