Lori Ann Palmer

On April 29th, 2025 Lori Ann Palmer unexpectedly passed away. She was born on February 2nd 1968, in Barrhead general hospital, the first child of Robert and Frances Palmer. And sister to Shawn Palmer. She grew up on the family farm in the Dunstable area, with her grandfather (Boompa), Victor Kasowsky. Lori had always admired her Boomp and cherished their time spent together. Lori attended Dunstable Elementary school and then Junior and Senior high at Lorne Jenkins high school. She later went on to pursue her education at the University of Alberta where she achieved success in her Bachelors of Education. Her first teaching job was at the Fort Assiniboine School. Lori remained teaching in the Barrhead area for next 36 years where she inspired, motivated, and spread compassion to all who crossed her path.

Lori married Ken Dievert in 1990 and they had two children while they were together. Rylan and Mckenna. Lori was a supportive, nurturing, strong, and compassionate mother to them and her guidance and comfort will be deeply missed.

Lori enjoyed the little things in life, finding peace in bird watching, long drives, hammocks in the sun, the color purple, antiquing, and her cat Gemma. She expressed her love through her generous spirit, always giving all she could to her friends and family. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Predeceased-by Boompa and father Robert, she is survived by her two children Rylan and Mckenna, her mother Frances, her brother Shawn, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial will be held on June 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM from the Busby Hall to honor and celebrate Lori as a remarkable woman, loving mother, and cherished friend. Friends and Family are encouraged to wear purple, in Memory of Lori.
