SPERLING, Sylvester

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Sylvester Sperling of Camp Creek AB, on February 20th, 2023, at the age of 84.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Faye and their 4 children; son, Joseph Sperling and granddaughters, Sidney and Casey Sperling; son, Calvin Sperling (Susan) and grandsons, Zak and Tye Sperling of Valleyview AB; daughter, Deanna Conlin (Colin), granddaughter Savanah (Ben) of Stony Plain AB; youngest daughter, Sylvia Veitch and grandsons, Everett and Kashe Veitch and granddaughter, Saffron Sperling-Pitzel of Regina Saskatchewan.

Sylvester came from a large loving family. He was the son of Katharine and Joseph Sperling originally residing in Germany, then making their way to Canada in 1927. He was one of 11 brothers and sisters: Val and Gabe Sperling of Burnaby BC. Monica Kasha and Vicky Sperling of Campbell River, BC. Leona Whitz of Edmonton, AB. Tina Tirling of Camrose, AB. Hilda Zesko of Calgary, AB. As well as Alex (Joan) Sperling of Lethbridge, AB.

He was predeceased by his brother, Leo Sperling and sister, Amilia Hamilton.

A memorial service is yet to be determined and will be announced at a later date.

Syl was a proud great-grandfather of 4 great-grandchildren: Rosie (Savanah), Oliver (Everett), Mia and Mason (Zak). The people that knew Sylvester knew he was a man of few words but when it came to his family, he spoke the world of them. We will forever miss the presence and warmth of Sylvester as he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly cherished to the Alberta Cross Cancer Foundation in the name of Sylvester Sperling.
