Dear Editor, It is such an honour to live in a small community. This spring, staff members of Barrhead Elementary School decided to raise funds for two students that suffer with cystic fibrosis.

What are you supposed to do with warehouses upon warehouses of unneeded donations? The response to the Slave Lake disaster — in terms of volunteerism and donations — was admirable.

Westlock is by most measures a pretty safe community. Unfortunately, all it takes if a single break-in or act of vandalism to shatter that illusion of security.

Graduation fever is set to descend upon Barrhead high school students. Graduation is a time for students to look to the future, and to remember the days they have spent with family and friends.

Dear Editor, I am completely disgusted with seeing photos of bucking broncs at rodeos, whose sponsors and organizers claim are well cared for, in the newspapers as exciting entertainment.
