At the last Barrhead town council meeting mayor Gerry St. Pierre said people would understand and forgive the town for not having more of a Canada Day celebration. And in all likelihood he is right, which I think, in some ways, is unfortunate.

Dear Editor, In reply to your comments about the Lords Prayer being taken out of three schools in the Pembina Hills Public Schools, I would like to ask the community one question.

That tongue twister of a sesquicentennial anniversary — Canada’s 150th — is days away so now’s the time to decide where you’ll be this Saturday, July 1.
