Apparently Highway 18 is a dangerous road to drive on. And it has nothing to do with wildlife.

For years, we have been waiting for this moment – the tearing of four envelopes and reading of the eight digit bids for the pool project.

Last Friday marked a two-year anniversary of a very special day for me. A day that had me excited and scared as I knew I would be embarking on a journey that would change my career for the better.

I wish to contest the statement in a recent article about the high water at Baptiste Lake claimed that in 20 years, the water had not been this high. I can forward photos of higher water levels at least three times during that period.

In the April 26, 2016 edition of the Athabasca Advocate, we advocated for Municipal Affairs to come to the Town of Athabasca and inspect council issues. One of the reasons we provided was a “fiasco” with town employee complaints.

For the last number of months, on and off, councillors from both Barrhead municipalities have been debating how to minimize the number of unnecessary callouts of our local fire department by Alberta Health Services (AHS).

Some of the roads around here aren’t in the greatest shape.
