R.F. Staples School students Jessica Semeniuk and Lane Bratt played Chelsea Scott and Chad Vincent in the play entitled I Was A Teenage Prom Queen last Wednesday. Approximately 320 drama students from around the region were in Westlock for the Zone 2 Drama Festival April 26-28 at the Cultural Arts Theatre.

Despite early opinion polls pointing to a win for the Wildrose Alliance, the Progressive Conservatives pulled out to yet another overwhelming majority victory in the 2012 provincial general election on Monday.

Incumbent Progressive Conservative candidate Jeff Johnson was returned the Alberta Legislature Monday night, turning back the challenge of Wildrose opponent Travis Olson. At 12:30 p.m.

It was too close to call for nearly three hours after the polls closed Monday night, but in the end Progressive Conservative candidate Maureen Kubinec won by a slim margin.

Eight-year-old Kelsey Lundstrom from Mayerthorpe performed the splits on Saturday, April 14 as part of her solo jazz routine at the Just Dance Festival held at the Westlock Cultural Arts Theatre. Lundstrom was one of 900 dancers that performed throughout the two-day event in various musical genres that included hip hop, jazz, tap, ballet, and lyrical.
