Clearing the streets of snow can be a touchy subject for many municipalities, and residents are often left with the impression not enough is being done.

Kora Jane Blair, less then one day old in this picture, made her first appearance in Westlock, or anywhere, Jan. 1 at 4:47 p.m. Weighing in at six pounds, 14 ounces, she is the first baby for parents Khris and Leah Blair of Colinton.

After the Grade 9 class was removed from W.R. Frose school in Fawcett effective September 2010, there have been no attempts to bring it back to the school, nor are there plans to further reduce the school’s class offerings.

An early afternoon fire on a rural property about 10 kilometres southeast of Westlock destroyed a garage and three vehicles last Thursday, but fortunately nobody was injured.
