This group of girls were just a few of the students from a variety of Aspen View Public Schools' that were taking part last Friday in the annual regional cross country running event held at the Muskeg Creek Trails in Athabasca and hosted by Landing Trail Intermediate School. The event saw students from Kindergarten right through to Grade 9 compete in various distance races for male and female students in each grade category.

It was the perfect result for a first-year fundraiser conducted through social media. Called the Pimped Out Pumpkin Auction, it raised slightly more than $2,500 over the past few weeks with the proceeds going towards the Road To Hope.

Members of the community have been concerned with buses traveling on University Drive when the new school is built at the Athabasca Regional Multiplex. The concern is a steep hill with several sharp corners.

The Athabasca Regional Multiplex site is suitable to build for a new school, pool and library. That is according to a site services report conducted at the request of the Aspen View Public School Division.

After two years at ‘K’ Division RCMP headquarters in Edmonton, Sergeant Sonny Kim has returned to Boyle. Kim was promoted to lead the Athabasca and Boyle Integrated Traffic Unit (ITU).
