Agrena Society president Shannon Carlson last week called for his organization to have more say in the swimming pool project. Carlson said greater involvement would boost the society’s aquatic centre fundraising campaign.

A musical flavour of Cuba was provided last week by Barrhead Composite High School Senior Concert Band. Under the direction of Kerri-Lee Kostiw, the band played three pieces from its forthcoming tour of Cuba.

For three hours last week Barrhead celebrated the spirit of giving. Reflecting on its many blessings, the community thanked those who give time, effort, love, and sometimes money to others, without expecting anything in return.

Town residents face a tax hike of nearly seven per cent. The municipal residential portion of the tax rate is to climb by 0.5 mills, Barrhead Town Council has decided.

Almost one year after filming began, Barrhead’s highly anticipated promotional video has been unveiled. The video made its debut at a launch party April 6, where the three-minute film was played on the big screen at the Roxy Theatre.
