Students in the Barrhead Composite High School band program had the opportunity to travel to Cuba May 17 to 25. BCHS band director Kerri-Lee Kostiw shares a recount of the unforgettable music trip.

Though their finances may change depending on enrolment, the Pembina Hills school division is projecting a deficit of $474,793 in the 2014-2015 school year while the Alberta Distance Learning Centre (ADLC) is projecting a balanced budget.

Barrhead can expect a TELUS investment of $800,000 sometime this year, which is expected to enhance wireless service to meet growing demand.

From April 10th – April 16th, 2014, a small group of Barrhead Composite High School students embarked on a journey of culture, history and gastronomy. Our tour began with the eight of us leaving BCHS at 3 a.m., to arrive in Montreal at 3 p.m.

Fees for using the Town’s Parks and Recreation facilities are to go up on Sept. 1. Charges are also to be introduced in 2015 for soccer programs at Cecil Martin Park and Beaver Brook.
