It was the perfect weekend for the Quintilio siblings.

On March 11 and 12 Barrhead Composite High School hosted a six team senior girls basketball tournament to see who would be the North Central Zone Champions and represent the zone in the Provicial Championships.

Westlock’s Pee Wee Warriors dug deep until the bitter end Sunday, losing 3-1 to Airdrie in the provincial ‘B’ championship finals in Drayton Valley.

The St. Mary School’s senior boys basketball team will play for a provincial championship this coming weekend, while the girls just missed the medal podium at North Central Zone 1A playdowns.

Athabasca cross country skier, Maya Maclsaac-Jones has been representing her hometown and country very well during the FIS World Cup Ski Tour in Quebec. This is the first year the 20-year-old skier has competed for her country at the senior level .
