It may be hard to believe, but baseball season is just around the corner.

Although they came up short in their quest to bring home two gold medals this season, Westlock’s Peewee ‘A’ Warriors are happy to hang two silver medals around their necks.

By the end of the Westlock and District Minor Hockey Association’s annual general meeting on April 24, the association will have a new president. After three years in the top job, Dean Fagnan is stepping down.

The curling season came to a close in Boyle on the weekend with the annual Mixed Bonspiel. The event served as one last chance for local curlers to throw some rocks before the ice comes out at the Millview Recreation Complex.

Olga Pacholok was the honorary curler at the Athabasca Curling Clubís Ladies Bonspiel last month. An avid curler since the 1960ís, Pacholok has played a huge role in the ongoing health and growth of the local club.

Gold is the only colour that our Wolverines recognize. For the second year running the Barrhead team took top honours in Tier 4 of the 1660 League. Yet it was far from a foregone conclusion.
