Athabascaís Peewee A Hawks put in a good showing at the 2013 Peewee C Hockey Alberta Provincial Championships in Redwater on the weekend.

Westlock’s Atom ‘A’ Warriors came up short in their pursuit of the league championship. Up against Stony Plain for the 1660 League Tier 2A crown last week, the Warriors lost the best-of-three series in two games, ending their title quest.

The Westlock Peewee ‘A’ Warriors are provincial silver medallists. The Warriors lost 7-5 to the Grimshaw Flyers in the championship final of the Peewee ‘B’ Provincial Tournament on Sunday, March 24 in Three Hills.

A terrific season reached its conclusion for the Edwin Parr Composite senior girls Predators basketball team on the weekend, when they finished sixth at the provincial championships in Strathmore.

For their first year in the competitive co-ed division, Edwin Parr Compositeís senior high cheer team has done very well. They put the cap on their great season with a third-place finish at provincials in Drayton Valley on the weekend.

A trio of R.F. Staples alumni — Jessica Carlyon, Sophie Desranleau and Tina Frose — will settle for silver following the national volleyball championship in Lloydminster last weekend.
