Another week, another political candidate caught making inappropriate and offensive statement from their past, in large part, due to social media. One of the latest being NDP candidate for Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas, Alex Johnstone.

Alberta Culture Days came and went, and I spent all of my time chasing after one lead or another. It was cold and windy and I would much rather have enjoyed a warm cup of tea with some poetry any day of the week.

Dear Editor, I have done a tally on what the 3 political parties have promised to us from August 3 to September, 2015 and have come up with the following: Total promises: $431,500,000.

Dear Editor, The time to vote on the pool the Town of Barrhead proposes is tomorrow. Regardless of which way you intend to vote, please vote. Plan Forward doesn’t have the budget for flashy ads to change your mind or encourage questions.

Dear Editor, Governing a country has never been easy, especially when people look to government as the solver of all problems, the hander out of goodies, and the Santa Claus, who should meet all our needs.

They said it couldn’t be done, but we did it They said nobody cared, but they do. They said people are disinterested, but it’s clear they not.

School zones should not be hard to miss. If you are following the speed limit in urban or rural areas where the posted limits are not more than 100 kilometres per hour, the signs should be pretty easy to see.

Sometimes life comes full circle.

Dear Editor, After reading Mark Thiessen’s letter in the Sept. 22 Barrhead Leader, I am compelled to point out the underlying reason for discontent.

Dear Editor, Oct. 7 is a very important day for everyone in the town and county as the outcome will affect each and everyone of us directly as either your taxes or your rent will ge going up.
