The problem is the overreach. It's clear to the vast majority of Canadians, that the government has been overreaching (and not on behalf of the veterans who have done so much for us). They're choosing to champion one cause above all else.

Dear Editor, Reflecting on the coming plebiscite in our community I sense a great deal of loss for the well-being of our citizens if we vote yes.

I believe the citizen of our town are tryin to make our community better, but we’re going in two different directions. Some of us don’t get the term, “Neutrality Bylaw,” because it seems exclusive, not neutral.

We Barrheadians, taxpayers, friends, family, coworkers are the individuals that make Barrhead the town that it is! Through multiple viewpoints, experiences, history, and origins the town of Barrhead is formed.

Opposers to neutrality want to make the neutrality issue about people. They will say those who support neutrality dishonour our veterans or hate our neighbours, that we would not be accepting of differences.

Nearly fifty years ago, our family moved to Barrhead because the school had a school for the mentally handicapped operated by the school board on the campus. Barrhead was a forerunner in Alberta. Anne and I raised our five children here.

Dear Editor: Our justice system is sadly in need of repair. Our justice system is like fishing – a catch-and-release system. The cops work their butts off to catch these no-goods and the courts let them go. This young offenders system is BS.

There’s a Latin phrase you may have heard of: caveat emptor – meaning literally, “let the buyer beware.
