Different season, same situation for Tre Ford. The Canadian quarterback will make his first start of 2024 on Saturday night when Edmonton (0-7) visits the Saskatchewan Roughriders (5-2). Ford, of Niagara Falls, Ont.

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers might have a lucky charm that helps pull them out of their funk this week. Veteran receiver Lucky Whitehead will make his season debut on Thursday when Winnipeg (2-6) hosts the West Division co-leading B.C.

TORONTO — Montreal Alouettes safety Marc-Antoine Dequoy and B.C. Lions receiver Justin McInnis were the top-graded defensive and offensive players in the CFL's honour roll for July, the league announced Wednesday. Dequoy earned a grade of 89.

The Ottawa Redlbacks are on a nice roll but for linebacker Adarius Pickett, there's no bad time for a week off to rest, recover and reload.

TORONTO — The Alouettes dominated the CFL's weekly honour roll. Montreal safety Marc-Antoine Dequoy grabbed the top defensive nod, while quarterback Davis Alexander was recognized on the offensive side. Dequoy earned a grade of 87.

EDMONTON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats look like they are finally finding their footing.
