CFL free agency is set to open Tuesday with much of the guesswork seemingly having already been done. Many pending free agents reached agreements in principle with other teams last week during the CFL's open-window period. It began Feb.

OTTAWA — Bob Dyce will have some new faces on his Ottawa Redblacks coaching staff this season. Dyce, entering his second full season as Ottawa's head coach, unveiled his 2024 staff Monday.

CALGARY — Micah Awe won't be hitting CFL free agency. The veteran American linebacker signed a contract extension with the Calgary Stampeders on Friday. Awe was eligible to become a CFL free agent Tuesday.

There'll be no free-agency angst for Adarius Pickett. The five-foot-11, 210-pound linebacker solidified his CFL future earlier this week, signing a one-year deal with the Ottawa Redblacks.

WINNIPEG — Dalton Schoen is confident he didn’t make a mistake by re-signing with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The team’s top receiver inked a one-year deal on Tuesday after drawing interest from some CFL clubs that could have thrown more cash his way.

MONTREAL — Almondo Sewell is hitting the free-agent market a little early. The Montreal Alouettes announced Thursday that they have granted the veteran defensive lineman's request to be released. CFL free agency begins at noon ET on Tuesday.

WINNIPEG — Veteran safety Brandon Alexander has signed a one-year extension with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Alexander will return for his seventh Canadian Football League season, all with the Blue Bombers.

TORONTO — American receiver Damonte Coxie signed a contract extension with the Toronto Argonauts on Wednesday. Coxie, 27, was eligible to become a free agent Tuesday.

Quarterback Matt Shiltz and defensive tackle Ricky Walker appear headed to the Calgary Stampeders. According to league sources, Shiltz and Walker, both Americans, agreed in principle to one-year deals with Calgary on Wednesday.

William Stanback sees the next CFL season as a redemption year. The 29-year-old American had spent the last five seasons with the Montreal Alouettes before being released last week. The B.C.
