The Westlock Junior Rock stayed undefeated after sweeping their two-game home stand at the Rotary Spirit Centre over the weekend.

The latest meet for the Athabasca Rapids Swim Club was rather successful. A total of 14 swimmers hit the Peter Hemmingway Pool in Edmonton for the Sherwood Park Swim Club’s Mayflower long course invitational Apr.

The coming season could see some significant changes to the calibre of hockey seen in Athabasca.

The Barrhead Golf Club is not only unique because of the layout of the course, it is also unique because of the staff that keep the greens so green, and the grass so short.

Spring is here and the North Central Alberta Baseball League (NCABL) season will soon be upon us. The NCABL is an amateur baseball league established in 1968 that has 10 teams, including Barrhead and Westlock.

Westlock’s senior men’s baseball team, the Grey Lions, are set to suit up for the 2015 Alberta West Central Baseball Association season.

Two wins in less than 24 hours means that Westlock’s junior lacrosse team, the Rock remains unbeaten for the season.

A local gymnast took one medal at the recent provincial championships. Rylan Wagner, 12, won individual gold on the rings, but settled for seventh overall at the 2015 Artistic Gymnastics Provincials that took place in Lethbridge Apr. 17 to 19.

Long time golfers at the Athabasca Golf and Country Club may recognize a familiar face as the new season begins. However, everyone will likely see a number of changes being made to ensure all golfers have an ‘experience' this season.
