A strong effort by the Barrhead Midget ‘AA’ Steelers didn’t result in a win Nov. 13 at the Agrena as the team failed to hold on to a two-goal lead after two periods and had to settle for a 3-3 tie with the Spruce Grove Saints.

The Boyle Blazers bantam hockey team played host to their annual tournament last weekend, but they didn’t let their visitors have much fun. The team was dominant over the weekend, winning all four of their games on the way to the championship.

Edwin Parr Composite’s senior boys volleyball team has rebounded from a slow start to become one of the most dangerous teams around.

The Boyle School Huskies girl’s volleyball team kept rolling last weekend as they won their ‘Running With the Dogs’ tournament. The team has now won six gold medals in as many tournaments this season.

The Steelers’ proud unbeaten start to the season has been shattered by back-to-back losses. They were outthought, out-hustled and outplayed by the Whitecourt Ford Mustangs on Friday night at the Agrena in a 4-0 thumping.

Barrhead’s junior girls ended their volleyball season on a golden note. They turned in a glittering performance to overcome their rivals the Westlock T-Birds in Saturday’s zone final at Barr-head Composite High School.
