Town of Barrhead Council recently made a motion to start amalgamation talks with the County of Barrhead. Unfortunately, the Town forgot to inform the County of their decision to move forward.

I have lived on the outskirts of Algonquin Park, and in one of Ontario’s most beautiful cities, I have travelled through out Canada and yet driving into Barrhead took my breathe away.

Dear Editor, On August 24th my husband went to the IGA for his medicine. When he got to the till he didn't have his wallet. The cashier asked him his name and then said someone had found it by our vehicle and brought it in to her. Whoever you are, a big thank you so much to both the finder and the cashier. This would have written sooner but I have been in the Hospital ever since.

Dear Editor, This past week I had been talking to a Barrhead Senior about traveling to Westlock for swimming by possibly running a bus or van this winter. After numerous phone calls with good support from everyone, I called the Mayor.

It seems like every month there’s some sort of viral online challenge going out, where people nominate their friends and acquaintances to do something silly on video then post it to a social media site.

These days, the first thing most people do when hiring a new employee is put their name into an Internet search engine.

I have read and heard some of the discussions back and forth between the Town and the County regarding a new indoor swimming pool in the town of Barrhead. It appears there is a bit of a stand-off at the moment over the structure and costs.

Dear Editor, On Friday, August 22, while attempting to do what I should not have been doing, (but something so many of us do do, in boogying to cross over in the middle of the street), I was hit by a van.

Dear Editor, Conditions of last falls vote were not met, therefore a new vote is necessary and so it is back to the drawing board.

Dear Editor Re: Barrhead Healthcare Centre Last week while a friend spent a week in the Acute Care Ward of the hospital, I spent six to seven hours a day at the hospital visiting.
