Barrhead may just be one step closer to getting a new aquatic centre.

Dear Editor, I’m writing to express my disappointment in the recent street festival. Though there were many excellent activities for families and great bargains to be had, the mess left behind on mainstreet is a terrible disappointment.

Dear Editor, On June 4, 2014 - three members of the RCMP were senselessly murdered in Moncton, NB. Two others were wounded by gunfire and the community of Moncton was terrorized for over 30 hours.

Right now, there is a small movement happening in Barrhead and Westlock to restore the Sparrow’s Hope project, a shelter for women fleeing abusive relationships.

It’s a debt that can never truly be repaid. Last Friday, June 6, people all over the world celebrated the 70th anniversary of one of the most bloody and costly operations of the Second World War.
