With Christmas arriving in only four short days, it’s as good a time as any to look back on the year that was. This year has been much like every year that has gone before it.

The Westlock Rotary Spirit Centre is a jewel of the community — that’s a fact that cannot be denied. Anyone who took in last weekend’s first-ever Festival of Christmas Wonder can attest to that.

The hard work that goes into policing communities like Athabasca, Boyle and the surrounding area cannot be understated.

This holiday season hold your loved ones near and dear. Squeeze them tight and appreciate their presence, as some family and friends won't have that opportunity this year.

Dear Editor, I read with much interest your article in the previous edition of your paper regarding “call for transport system to help seniors”. I am the spouse of a disabled senior who has been a resident of Keir Care for the past year.

Dear Editor, I read with dismay the trials that Mr. Scotty Smith encountered upon his discharge from St. Albert’s Sturgeon Community Hospital.

Dear Editor, I feel compelled to comment on the Dale Schaffrick fiasco. Listening to the media one would think he had committed an ultimate wrong against society. In my humble opinion Dale made two mistakes.

Dear Editor, I’m getting tired of putting up with people that have no respect for others, or for their community. Case in point, I go to the Hospital and I take off my shoes, as many other do, because they are wet and muddy.

Dear Editor, Heads up to Barrhead Residents! This past weekend my family and I were at the hospital visiting my dad whom has broken his neck.

Dear Editor, On December 7th we picked up two parcels at Barrhead Sears and then went shopping. When we got home, one of the packages was missing, apparently it had slid out when our van door was opened.
