Westlock County Division 4 Coun. Bud Massey has called off a meeting of his constituents claiming strong support to stay on as councillor.

Bud Massey is out as Westlock County reeve. Following a closed-door session after council’s July 26 meeting, Massey resigned as reeve, but will remain as Div. 4 councillor.

Despite Bud Massey’s resignation as Westlock County reeve, a resident’s offer to fund a Div. 4 byelection is still on the table.

Former Westlock County CAO Peter Kelly breached his duties and is liable for damages, according to an opinion from the municipality’s lawyer.

RCMP have joined a manhunt for a missing Westlock man and are asking for the public’s assistance. Bob Wilkins, 66, was last seen by his family Monday, July 25, though an RCMP investigation confirmed he was last seen July 26 at a store in Westlock.
